Dio Horia presents a solo exhibition of Serbian artist, Aleksandar Todorovic.

The title of the show “Buy it All, Eat It All” acts as an ironic catchphrase that best depicts the ever growing consuming-obsessed era. It can be perceived as an inverse mantra, that shouts for awareness and criticism through its conceptual repetition.  Todorovic brings complex, dystopian narratives to the foreground with a satirical mood and a wry wit. These narratives do not come from an inaccessible future but they highlight problematic conditions of current times. In his subject matter, “sacred” personages from the fast-moving consumed goods – food and entertainment – alongside Christian Orthodox saints who are also part of the consumption industry, occupy a central role.

His work blends together references of Byzantine iconography and editorial cartoons. The combination of these miscellaneous elements, highlights his craftsmanship and brings to the fore his humorous momentum.
