Born in Athens and based in New York, Ioanna creates striking sculptural monuments and immersive installations that reimagine the potential of everyday objects. From cast-off bikinis and chewing gum to discontinued banknotes and factory foam, her materials—often deemed waste—are reconfigured into fantastical forms and contemporary monuments.
Rooted in architecture yet liberated from it, her work explores material excess, consumption, and transformation with equal parts criticality and wonder.
Her installations have been shown internationally—from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and NEON in Athens, to BAM in NYC and deCordova in Massachusetts—and are held in collections such as the Guggenheim, MCA Chicago, and the D.Daskalopoulos Collection.
