'Holy Essential Ιtems', 2020 comments on how rapidly rising Covid-19 cases and the expectation of curbs on movement in the early stages of the pandemic led many Western consumers to stock up in household items as a precaution against the need to quarantine or due to supply disruptions. 'Holy Essential items', is formed from an arrangement of pictures in four parts. In each part an item like toilet paper or soap, is positioned where a religious saint would be depicted in a traditional byzantine icon. The hands depicted in the artwork represent the hands of a politician and the jolly depiction of the 'poop character' implies that this is a commercial. The use of the web and social media advertising to achieve increase consumerism is noted from the 'WWW'- eye symbol on the 'poop character' and the repetitive IOWNU acronym in the artwork.
