Photographer | Graphic Designer

 JOB OVERVIEW

A part-time, permanent position is available as a Photographer | Graphic Designer. He/She will be responsible for planning and undertaking Dio Horia’s Gallery photography in Athens, Mykonos and elsewhere along with editing digital presentations required to support the Sales Team.

 Key Responsibilities

·       Photograph Dio Horia’s exhibitions and Dio Horia’s Gallery stock.

·       Create and edit and update digital presentations that support the Artistic Program events and site (daily).

·       Upload digital artworks to specialized CMS system

 Other Responsibilities

·       Processing, editing and uploading images to the Image Server/database and record relevant image information on the inventory records

·       Design, edit, and produce a variety of print and digital material, including event invitations, press releases, posters, exhibition and special event collateral

·       Photoshop image manipulation and editing – regular tasks will include compositing, color correction, image enhancement and retouching of digital images for ad hoc, sales or gallery projects.

·       Production of digital mock ups showing how artworks may look in clients private residences.

·       Occasionally editing works shot by other Photographers

·       Ensure all photography and digital presentations are carried out within set gallery protocols and is consistent

·       Ordering relevant production materials

·       Complete ad hoc tasks as and when necessary

Occasionally work collectively with other team members to foster a hospitable, approachable and customer-focused and can-do attitude for the gallery visitors.

 Requirements: 

·       Minimum of two years’ experience as a photographer and graphic designer within a design-focused environment

·       Experience in manual handling of artworks of various media; experience in lighting and photographing 2D and 3D artworks and exhibitions.

·       Advanced Digital imaging software knowledge (Photoshop/InDesign) and experience, demonstrated previously within a work environment.

·       Excellent time management skills.

·       Proactive attitude

·       Excellent communication skills and the ability to be an ambassador for the gallery.

·       Ability to start the position immediately

Executive Secretary | Gallery Administrator

 

JOB OVERVIEW

 

A part-time, permanent position is available as a Secretary in our Gallery. He/She will be responsible for most of our administrative work that supports the Director and Sales Team in Athens, Mykonos and elsewhere.

 

Key Responsibilities

·       Cataloguing (Image scanning and archive work (InDesign and Photoshop skills needed)

·       Updating and maintaining the gallery database and digital sales platforms (ex. Artsy)

·       Assistance in installation of gallery exhibitions and art fairs

·       Heavy email correspondence with clients and public (ex. Mailchimp)

·       Greeting gallery visitors and addressing inquiries

·       Invoicing clients

·       Light bookkeeping and financial record keeping for gallery’s accountant and bookkeeper

·       Packing, shipping and receiving of artworks

·       Coordinating matting and framing of inventory

·       Updating mailing list from reception/exhibition books

·       Organizing gallery openings, special events and annual mailings to clients

·       Manage and maintain paper and digital files

·       Booking and organizing travel arrangements

·       Translating documents from Greek to English and vice versa.

·       Providing general administrative support for gallery staff

  

Requirements: 

·       Minimum 2 years secretarial and administrative experience

·       Superior organization, focus, accuracy, and attention to detail

·       Strong time management; ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimum supervision

·       Discretion in handling confidential material

·       Resourcefulness and self-motivation

·       Poised and professional demeanor

·       High degree of computer proficiency. Knowledge of InDesign Photoshop, Dropbox and Mail chimp programs.

·       Native Greek speaker and fluency in professional English.

·       Knowledge of and familiarity with Modern and Contemporary art preferred

Internship Programme

Dio Horia runs an internship program.  Successful applicants will learn about the day-to-day running of a contemporary art gallery, gain experience in front of house duties, administrative tasks and marketing. We are looking for reliable candidates who have their own accommodation, who can work independently and flexibly for one or three days a week for a period of three months either in Athens or in Mykonos.
